Helping at Home

Tom is nine years old. He lives with his father, mother, and younger sister in a small house on a quiet street. Tom is not very strong, but he has a good heart. Every morning, he wakes up early, makes his bed, and helps his mother clean the table after breakfast. His mother often says, “Tom, your hands are small, but your heart is big.”

One day, Tom’s mother feels very tired and lies down to rest. The house is messy, and the little sister is crying. Tom quickly decides to help. He cooks simple noodles for lunch, washes the cups, wipes the table, and keeps the room quiet so his mother can rest. He also plays with his sister and tells her a funny story.

When Tom’s father comes home from work, he sees the clean room, the finished lunch, and the quiet house. He hugs Tom and says, “Son, today you showed true responsibility. I am very proud of you.”

Tom feels happy. He learns that helping at home brings peace, love, and strength to the whole family.
