Anna is a polite and quiet girl. She studies at a small school near her home. Every morning, she walks through the school gate with her best friend. One sunny day, as she enters the gate, she sees something on the ground. It is a brown wallet.
Anna picks it up and opens it carefully. Inside, she finds money, a bus card, and an ID card with the photo of an old man. Anna thinks for a moment. She knows the wallet is not hers, and someone must be worried.
Instead of ignoring it or keeping it, Anna walks straight to the school security office. She gives the wallet to the guard and explains where she found it. The guard smiles and says, “Thank you, Anna. You did the right thing.”
Later that afternoon, Anna sees an old man talking to the guard. The man is holding the wallet tightly with both hands. His eyes look warm and thankful. He walks over to Anna and says, “Young lady, thank you for your honesty. You have a good heart.”
Anna feels light and happy. She learns that honesty brings peace to the community and respect to the person who practices it.
